Hank and Stacie Sisk This morning, we are going to hear an amazing story of love,
courage and hope. Hank and Stacie Sisk have already lived two or three lifetimes. We met Hank after
our youth helped him get his Christmas decorations up. He had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. We later learned that while he was in remission, his wife was herself diagnosed with breast cancer. He saw her through that terrible ordeal and things began to look hopeful again. Once she was pronounced cancer free, in a cruel twist of fate, Hank’s cancer returned. Now at this point, no one would blame these folks if they got depressed and withdrawn. Instead they began a film project (Hank is a producer). The film, "The Letter," is a short story of God’s faithfulness to a family whose daughter has cancer. Word of their story made the local news. Oprah Winfrey expressed interest in interviewing them. His passion was to get the word out that cancer can be beaten and that those facing such a diagnosis have reason for hope. Their story has reached not only Oregon, but the whole country. Here is what I’d like to do. There has been a fund set up to help this amazing family financially. Just ask at the Cottage Grove (Oregon) Wells Fargo Bank about the Hank Sisk Fund. If you want to give something through our Church, just mark an envelope with their names, and mail to: Cottage Grove Faith Center Pastor Jim |
